The pearls carry their own natural variations. Slight shifts in colour and gentle irregularities in shape are part of what makes each piece real.

The amethyst may also vary softly from stone to stone. Each rosary is slightly different because the materials are real.

Each chevron amethyst stone and each freshwater pearl is held between two gold-plated stainless steel links. It's the strongest way to build a rosary. Solid, hard-wearing, built to stay secure for years.

The stones and pearls come into the workshop blessed. My hands did the rest.

• Don't put it in water (pearls are organic, they dull over time)
